In summary, the following regulations apply:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maternity<br>Entitlement to 20 consecutive weeks of leave, of which at least 16 weeks must be taken after the birth<br>Employees must register their entitlement with the Family Compensation Fund (FAK), or alternatively their employer can do so on their behalf<br>Maternity pay amounts to 80% of the last salary subject to AHV contributions received before the birth (max. CHF 148,200)<br>The family compensation fund (FAK) transfers the maternity allowance directly to the employer, who then forwards it to the employee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paternity<br>Entitlement to 2 consecutive weeks of leave, which must be taken within the first 8 months of the child&#8217;s life, starting from the date of birth.<br>The employee must register their entitlement with the Family Compensation Fund (FAK), or alternatively this can be done by the employer<br>The amount of paternity allowance is 80% of the last salary subject to AHV contributions received before the birth (max.
